Never in the history of the Internet has there been as large an opportunity to make money online then there is today. In addition, it has never been easier for you to have an online presence.

Not many years ago, the only way to get free traffic to your website was to be ranked on the first page of Google. An alternative was to advertise on Google and have prospects find you through your advertisements.

Pay per click advertising for our two top keywords cost twelve-dollars and fifteen-dollars per click, respectively. As you can see, it wouldn’t take long to run through thousands of dollars. One hundred clicks would cost twelve-hundred dollars to fifteen-hundred dollars seemed like a huge amount of money for a new business just getting started online. Consequently,  we worked hard at SEO and ended up ranked in the top four positions on Google for our most sought after keywords. Today we see many online businesses ranking on the first page of Google in a matter of days, but that was not the case when we started marketing online.

Although ranking on the first page of Google is very advantageous, it no longer holds the keys to your online success because people can come across your website by a verity of other paths. {They can stumble upon your website through blogs, social networking sites, YouTube, cheap advertising, and many other ways.}

In fact, at a Jeff Johnson seminar I attended (Jeff is an amazing internet-marketing guru), Jeff started from scratch to sell a popular digital camcorder, and accomplished ranking on the first page of Google for the top keywords to sell that camcorder by the last day of a three-day seminar. Facebook now has a greater number of searches done daily than Google, and it didn’t even exist eleven years ago. What does that signify to you? You want to be on Facebook, or you will miss a huge market.

Eleven years ago, you had to know HTML code (Hyper Text Markup Language) to build a website to have an online business. Today, you can create a blog on many Web 2.0 sites and without any technical programming background. It only takes a day to set up a marketing page, monetize it and begin marketing.

Only a small part of the world’s population was online eleven years ago. Now there are 1.73-trillion people on the Internet. In other words, one out of every four people in the world is online. This is a massive market to sell your products and services too.

It is my judgement that there has never been a better opportunity to make money online by starting an internet business than there is today. Will you take advantage of this huge opportunity is the only question that remains to be answered?
