If You Want To Start Out On The Right Path Then You Need To Recognize These Affiliate Marketing Myths
August 23rd, 2010Affiliate marketing can be seen as one of the easiest ways to set up an online business but if you’re new to it, you’ll have to avoid believing the following myths. The best part is, you can start off with any niche you want. For example, if your interested in the Traffic Anarchy niche, you can easily find a related affiliate program and get started.
Perhaps, the largest myth among aspiring internet marketers is that to get your wills going you need a large upfront investment. Affiliate and internet marketing in general have dozens of success stories, you wouldn’t believe some of the backgrounds and obstacles that some of our fellow marketers have overcome; the good news is that you can do it to. You don’t have to spend anything because there are all free resources for you to use. You can have a great start by promoting your site through marketing on forums, video marketing, writing and publishing articles online, etc. It doesn’t take a capital to get to ball rolling in affiliate marketing. Don’t think that free traffic is ineffective because it is free. A perfect example of free traffic is to release a free download for an eBook and put it on as many sites that allows them, in the book you will have link to your site and to affiliate offers. Free traffic can work wonders but it is not as targeted as paid traffic and cannot be scaled to the same level unless you are heavily outsourcing. Paid traffic has its advantages but it also has its negatives; just as outsourcing does. Even small improvements here and there will take you a long way over time. All it takes is for you to take things one step at a time. Don’t believe the myth that affiliate marketing and advertising are one in the same. Any smart product owner would always look into recruiting affiliates over advertising if they wanted to make a lot of money with little effort. Advertising usually requires money upfront and is usually a timed event. With affiliates, you only pay out when they make a sale. It’s quite simple, you provide the product and then they sell it for you. Can you imagine the potential of having several different products and then getting just one super affiliate on each one.
Also, flashy banners are no longer impressive but are tasteless and set off alarms in your visitor’s heads. These banners do draw attention but they draw the wrong kind of attention. Your site is not a fireworks show so ditch the idea of flashing lights everywhere and attract your visitor’s attention to things that count. Keep the shining banners off of your site because you will lose more visitors, instead focus on content that has the purpose of informing the reader about how your site can solve their problem.
These myths may seem harmless but the minute that you let them creep into your mind they will start to affect your decisions and behavior. If you’re promoting an affiliate product about Internet Marketing Blog, then your using a legitimate way to sell it and not spamming.
