Don’t Make These Costly AdWords Mistakes

September 27th, 2010

The Internet has gone huge in the past few years. Google started almost ten years back as a website dedicated to providing people with useful information. 3 years after that, Google created Adwords, an online ad platform. Google Adwords has since become the leader to all other pay per click advertising markets. The reason it’s still the leader is because of the cutting edge technology and the results they provide. There is absolutely no body who can match the company in this area. Why doesn’t everyone find success with Adwords when they commence the program, then? What causes them to lose money and quit if it’s a wonderful advertising system? It’s because they make the following mistakes, so take heed so you don’t commit the same ones. Always keep on top of the internet marketing scene. So have a look at this Empire Formula site.

First of all, many people who advertise with AdWords don’t bother to produce different ad groups for the different keywords they are targeting. Using a single ad group for all of your keywords may be tempting. The problem is that you will have a hard time targeting your keywords this way, as you will have several variations on your keywords. Since your goal is to target your keywords as much as possible, you are better off making separate ads for different keywords. This way you will be able to have unique ads that focus on particular keywords.

There’s another mistake that’s very big and that’s not using a landing page and instead sending people to a home or some other page. This doesn’t work, however, when your visitor reaches your home page, there’s likely so much info on it that they won’t know where to go and they’ll go elsewhere.

This is why it’s necessary that you focus on creating good landing pages that are targeted towards your ad. Creating an online presence can seem to be a challenge. But you can see what the latest ways of doing this are at this The Empire Formula page.

The next AdWords mistake that is often made is using the content network when you don’t know how this works. It’s a good idea to turn the content network off in your account’s settings. The content network is set to on by default, and unless you are very familiar with it, you should shut it off. This is a type of contextual advertising in which Google puts your ads on partner sites it deems relevant. You generally won’t get a good click through rate using this type of advertising. Most advertisers get impressions from this but not a good click through rate. You also get many people who click on your ads who aren’t likely to buy anything, but are only looking around. In short, if Google AdWords can give you traffic; it can also put a big dent in your wallet if you’re not careful. The mistakes that we discussed above are made by many new and experienced advertisers. They sometimes don’t even see it until their money’s all gone. You should now see which mistakes you should avoid so that you can become as successful as possible.
