If you aren’t a guru then you may (like me) find keyword research difficult. Finding keywords isn’t actually the problem. Most of what I find are just not good enough.

I always believed that Google’s keyword tool gave highly accurate results. Why wouldn’t I? Big company like that shouldn’t be giving false figures. Well, that’s not always the case.

What you see (the data) is not what you get. However it would have been when they collated it. I discovered the answer almost by pure chance.

I went for a key phrase with around 5,000 pages competing against it. I felt I could do well with that one. I started churning out articles by the bucket load.

It didn’t take long to notice there were now over 9000 competing sites. I was shocked at this huge difference. Looked like it was going to be hard work. It turned out that my articles were showing on these sites and ranking for the keyword.

The point I’m trying to get across is that had I looked at the keyword with 9000 competitors, I would have left it alone. I was competing with myself as my article was on the majority of these new sites. Not a bad situation to be in if you ask me.

Anyway, I decided to give a keyword research service a try as I couldn’t count on getting lucky every time. Hopefully I could get some golden keywords delivered to my inbox every day. I calculated the cost against the time it would take me and it seemed a value for money concept.

There were a few to choose from but I went with Travis Sago and his Instacash service. After all, he’s the king of the bum marketers. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.

It takes me an hour or two to come up with a couple of decent keywords. Getting them delivered is a huge help. When all I have is time then two hours saved can be huge to me. Put that couples hours saved against the daily cost and it adds up to value.

All the big marketers bang on about outsourcing. And what I’m trying here is simply that. Outsourcing my keyword research to someone else.

You can find out just how the trial went over at my site. I said earlier about how I got loads of articles published for my chosen keyword. I’ll let you know how I did that on my site
